In Hanafi Maslik, what is the ruling for an Islamic Teacher (Female), Qaria or Muddarisa who is not hafizah and require to read from the quran in order to teach quran or provide lecture/ talk (even for preparation early on) for her already routine scheduled class/lectures during her mensturation cycle. Is she allow to touch and read through quran (even with golves)?
If not then can you please advise what can be done , as in some circumstances its not easy to rescheudle such regular lectures or talks specially for ladies whose cycle days vary.



One in a state of menstruation is not permitted to recite the Quran nor touch the مصحف or pages. She may use a cloth that is not attached to her body for this purpose. If she is teaching Quran she may listen and correct students by reading one or two words at a time after pausing. So she can listen to students reading and even correct their reading but should stop short of reciting one full verse herself.
If she has to use verses of Quran in her lectures I recommend she quote the verses in English.
Reading Qur’anic ayahs that are used for du’a or praise (zikr) are permissible if done without intention of recitation but for glorification of Allah, zikr and dua purposes only.
A menstruating woman can read the verses which bear the meaning of dua or glorification or attribute of Allah for the purposes mentioned above. Eg. she may recite Ayatul Kursi and three Quls (Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq and Surah Nas) before sleeping with the intention that these verses mention the attributes of Allah and intends to seek protection from Jinn and satan and she does not have any intention of recitation of these verses as Quran.
However, a menstruating woman is not allowed to read the verses which contain the command and prohibition of Allah, the story of any past event or information about future events.

والاستحاضة ص 141 – 142 ( : ويحرم بالحيض والنفاس ثمانية أشياء : ….. قراءة آية
من القرآن إلا بقصد الذكر إذا اشتملت عليه لا على حكم أو خبر اه وفي حاشية
الطحطاوي : قوله : “إلا بقصد الذكر” إي : أو الثناء أو الدعاء إن اشتملت عليه
فلً بأس به في أصح الروايات” قال فى العيون : ولو أنه قرأ الفاتحة على سبيل
الدعاء أو شيئا من الآيات التي فيها معنى الدعاء ولم يرد به القرآن فلً بأس به
اه واختاره الحلواني وذكر في غاية البيان أنه المختار كما فى البحر والنهر
